Marie Connole is a visual artist, illustrator and teacher based in Co. Clare, Ireland.
Her studio practice combines drawing, painting, installation and animation. She works through highly personal thematic content involving storytelling, the subconscious, and the natural world.
Her solo exhibition As Above So Below featured for six months at the Irish Arts Center in New York City in 2017. She has also exhibited at the National Gallery of Ireland, EVA International, Tulca, and the Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin.
Awards include the Kilkenny Arts Office residency(2008), SIM - the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists, in Reykjavík (2008) and the Tyrone Guthrie Residency(2011).
Collaborative projects include Re-possesion, selected for eva International 2012 (www.eva.ie). Aughty Public Art Projects, curated by Dr. Áine Phillips, and supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, Clare County Arts Office and Galway County Council.
Her work is in the collections of AXA Insurance, Wesley College Dublin, National University of Ireland Galway, Galway County Council, Clare County Arts Office and the Kilkenny Arts Office.
