As Above, So Below

'As Above, So Below' explores the influence of tales from the artist's childhood by the Cliffs of Moher on the west coast of Ireland.

Indigineous folklore and customs are re-considered visually through the lens of memory, personal narrative and history.

Of particular focus is the tale of the mythical village of Kilstipheen

(Cill Stíopháin) in Liscannor Bay. Covered by water the village is said to become visible for one day every seven years. The tale shares striking parallels with the fabled islands of Atlantis and Hy-Brasil.

This series of work was exhibited in a six-month solo exhibition at the

Irish Arts Center New York in 2017.

Current exhibition 'Immrama: Voyages to Kilstipheen' runs from

5th May - 16th June 2018 at Ennistymon Courhtouse Gallery.
